Privacy policy
Effective July 11, 2026
Auris is built so that a privacy policy is almost unnecessary. The extension runs entirely on your device and has no servers.
What Auris collects
Nothing. Auris does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any data. There are no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no accounts, and no cookies.
How Auris works
- It reads the text of AI conversations already visible in your browser tab, locally, to convert them to speech.
- Speech is generated by your device's built-in speech engine. No audio or text is sent anywhere.
- Your settings (voice, speed, toggles) are saved in your browser's extension storage and sync only through your own browser profile.
Permissions
Auris runs on the major AI chat sites automatically, and on any other site only after you explicitly turn it on there. On those pages it reads the on-screen conversation to convert it to speech, and it saves your settings in your browser. It does not track your browsing, and it never runs on a site you have not enabled.
Changes
If this policy ever changes in a way that affects your data, the extension's update notes will say so plainly before the change takes effect.
