Privacy policy
Auris is built so your conversations never leave your device. This page explains exactly what the extension, the website, and our payment provider handle, in plain language.
The short version
- Your AI conversations are read and spoken on your device. Auris never sends conversation text or audio anywhere.
- The only network call the extension makes is checking your license key with our payment provider, Dodo Payments, when you activate and about once a day after that.
- Auris has no accounts, no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, and no advertising.
What the extension handles
- Conversation text. On AI chat sites, and on any other site only after you switch Auris on there, the extension reads the conversation already visible in your tab so it can speak it. This happens locally and is never transmitted or stored.
- Speech. Audio is generated by your device's built-in speech engine. No text or audio is sent to Auris or to any speech service by the extension.
- Settings. Your voice, speed, toggles, and player position are saved in Chrome's extension storage. If you use Chrome sync, Chrome syncs these settings through your own Google account. Auris cannot see them.
- License key. Your license key is stored in your browser. To confirm it is valid, the extension sends the key and a fixed device label ("Auris on Chrome") to Dodo Payments at activation and about once a day. Nothing else is included in that request.
- Local counters. Auris may keep two small counters on your device (how many answers it has read, and when you first activated it) to decide whether to invite you to leave a review. They never leave your device.
Purchases
Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record. When you buy Auris, you give your email address and payment details to Dodo, not to the extension. Dodo uses them to process the payment, email your license key, handle refunds, and meet its legal and tax obligations, under its own privacy policy. We can see your email address, order, and license status in our Dodo dashboard so we can support you. We never see your full card details.

If you write to hello@heyauris.com, we use your message and email address only to reply and help you.
This website
heyauris.com is a static site hosted on Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify processes basic request data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the service. To understand which pages are useful, the site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies, without fingerprinting, and without identifying you. The site sets no cookies and runs no advertising scripts.
Permissions
Auris asks only for what it needs: storage for your settings and license, the ability to run on the AI chat sites it supports, access to our payment provider to check your license, and optional access to other sites, which is used only on sites where you switch it on yourself. What we never do
We do not sell or share personal data, track your browsing, read conversations on our side, or use your data for advertising or AI training.
Your choices
You can remove Auris at any time from Chrome, which deletes its local data. To ask what Dodo holds about your purchase, or to request deletion, email hello@heyauris.com and we will help.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects your data, we will update this page and the date above, and say so plainly in the extension's update notes.
