Hear AI answers instead of decoding dense text
If reading long blocks of text takes effort, Auris lets you hear AI answers instead. It is a Chrome extension that reads ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity answers aloud automatically as they stream, at the speed you choose, while the text stays on screen. It is built for AI chats, not general documents.
Getting started
- 1Add Auris to Chrome
Install from the Chrome Web Store and activate your license key.
- 2Pick a voice and speed
Click the Auris icon to choose a voice you find clear and set the speed. Slower speeds are fine.
- 3Ask and listen
Every new answer is read aloud as it appears. Select any passage and press Alt+A to hear just that part again.
Built for how AI answers arrive
AI chats deliver long, dense answers, often with lists, code, and tables mixed in. Auris reads the words in a natural order, announces code and tables instead of spelling them out, and starts speaking before the answer has finished appearing, so you are not left waiting in front of a wall of text.
What Auris is not
Auris is a listening tool, not a medical or educational product. It reads AI chat answers only. For PDFs, websites, and documents, a general reader such as NaturalReader or Read Aloud covers that job, and many people use both.
Tips
- Ask the AI to "use plain language" or "explain like I am new to this" when you plan to listen.
- Try a few voices. Clarity matters more than how natural a voice sounds.
- Re-listen to any sentence by selecting it and pressing Alt+A.
Questions
Does Auris help with dyslexia?
Auris does not treat dyslexia. It reads AI answers aloud, which many people who find reading effortful prefer to decoding long text.
Can it read PDFs or websites?
No. Auris is built for AI chats. For documents and websites, a general text-to-speech reader is a better fit.
Can I slow it down?
Yes. Speed goes from 0.7x to 2x in the Auris menu.
Does it highlight words as it reads?
Auris speaks the answer while the full text stays on screen. It does not highlight word by word.
Is it private?
Yes. Auris reads the conversation already on your screen and speaks it with your device's own voices, inside your browser. Your conversation text never leaves your device. The only network call Auris makes is checking your license key with our payment provider.
How much does Auris cost?
Auris installs free from the Chrome Web Store, and reading aloud unlocks with a yearly license: $9.99/year at the founding price, with a 7-day money-back guarantee.
Hear your AI, out loud.
Auris reads ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity answers aloud the moment they start streaming. Your conversations never leave your device.
