How to make Claude read its answers out loud

Set it up in four steps

   Add Auris to Chrome

   Install Auris from the Chrome Web Store, then activate the license key from your purchase email. It takes about a minute.

   Open Claude

   Go to claude.ai/ in Chrome. If the tab was already open, refresh it once so Auris can attach.

   Ask anything and listen

   Auris starts reading the answer aloud as it streams, sentence by sentence. A small player appears in the corner so you can pause, skip, or stop.

   Control it from the keyboard

   Alt+A reads the latest answer or selected text, Alt+P pauses, Alt+S skips a sentence, and Alt+X stops. On a Mac, Alt is the Option key.

Claude Voice mode vs hearing the written answer

Claude offers Voice mode, in beta, on the web, desktop, and mobile apps. It is a spoken conversation: you talk, Claude talks back.

Many people prefer to keep typing, especially for detailed questions, long prompts, or pasted documents, and simply hear the answer instead of reading it. That is what Auris does. Your chat stays exactly as it is, with the full written answer on screen to refer back to.

What Auris does on Claude

• Reads only the answer, not Claude's thinking or status text.
• Starts speaking as the answer streams in, without waiting for the end.
• Announces code blocks, tables, and equations instead of reading raw syntax.
